Not the 17th: what iPhone will Apple present next

Apple's annual presentation has just taken place, during which fans of the brand were shown the iPhone 16 line, and the next new product is already on the way. It's not the iPhone 17, which is still a year away, but a model that is due out in the spring.

According to yablo.tech, it is the iPhone SE 4. The iPhone SE line will be updated for the first time in 4 years and is likely to be the largest since the creation of the Special Edition format. This is how the SE abbreviation stands for.

Design and display

The first iPhone SE was based on the 8th generation Apple smartphone. Its design was retained in the second generation of the special model. However, in SE 4, the manufacturer has to get rid of the 4.7-inch display, rounded screen edges, and the Home button.

Experts predict that the iPhone SE 4 will have a look closer to the iPhone 14. Its screen will increase to 6.1 inches and will be based on OLED technology, and its edges will become flat. In addition, the model will receive Face ID technology. However, it is likely to have a single main camera.

According to some rumors, the model will also receive the "Action" button, which was first introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro and has spread to the entire iPhone 16 line.

USB Type-C interface

Like all Apple smartphones, the new iPhone SE 4 will switch to the USB Type-C interface. The company was forced to abandon the proprietary Lightning connector at the request of the European Union authorities. Thus, one cable will be able to connect and charge the entire line of the company's products, including Macs, iPads, AirPods Pro, external drives, and displays. As well as gadgets from other manufacturers.

Apple Intelligence

And perhaps the biggest update in the iPhone SE 4 will be the availability of Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence technology. This was reported by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. Probably, the next model will be equipped with the A18 chip and 8 GB of RAM, which should be enough for AI. With its help, users will have access to many new features, such as Writing Tools, Photos Clean Up, Genmoji, Image Playground, Notification Summaries, and the new Siri voice assistant.

How much can the new iPhone SE cost?

According to rumors, the next generation iPhone SE will be more expensive than its predecessors. Probably, the manufacturer's price for the new product will be $499. Of course, this price will be somewhat higher outside the US. However, given that Apple is also currently selling the iPhone 14 for $599, such an offer will be quite profitable.
