No shelter, about 100 recreation centers destroyed, beach mined: what Zatoka resort looks like, where tourists have not been visiting since 2022

Zatoka has changed beyond recognition

Resort Zatoka, a village in Odesa Oblast that has been mercilessly shelled by Russians, has been closed to tourists for three summers now. There are very few local residents left, and the recreation centers that once hosted tens of thousands of travelers per season are now destroyed.

According to a report by TSN journalist Nelly Kovalska, the situation in the once-popular resort is bad, but the locals do not give up hope. Some of them are rebuilding the ruins with their own hands.

According to the locals, there are no shelters in Zatoka, as they would be flooded with water. However, despite this, the Russians did not kill a single resident with the missile. Locals call it a miracle, because the occupiers hit residential buildings and recreation centers, but people were rescued from the rubble.

Today, as the reporter summarized, there are about a hundred destroyed recreation centers in the village. For the most part, they are in no hurry to rebuild them, because tourists have not been coming to Zatoka for a long time.

Many people have left their homes with their animals, and only those who cannot imagine their lives without the sea - adult men or pensioners - have remained by the sea.

Tourist shops have not opened their doors for three years, and there are fragments of rockets, concrete and other construction debris everywhere. Vegetation has overgrown the once hospitable beach, which is now not allowed to be accessed because of mines on the shore.

The coast, once loved by vacationers, is now deserted. It is also difficult to meet people on the streets.
