Japanese snowboarder Hiroto Ogiwara won gold in the Big Air competition at the X Games, performing the world's first 2340-degree mute grab. The 19-year-old Nagano native made six and a half rotations and scored 97.33 points, which allowed him to win with confidence.

Last year's champion Taiga Hasegawa (94.66 points) won the silver medal at the Buttermilk Resort in Aspen (USA), and Rocco Jamieson, a newcomer from New Zealand, was third with 91.33 points.

"I'm the first one to do it. I've never been so happy," Ogiwara said. "It was the greatest moment of my life. I think I gave this trick all my energy."

In a day, the Japanese man's fantastic flight garnered more than 3 million views on social media.

In 2021, Ogiwara became the Japanese junior champion and won the World Rookie Finals, and in 2022 he repeated these successes, strengthening his status as a rising star.

His career reached a new level at The Nines in Switzerland, where he performed the world's first BS Quint Coke 2160, a trick in which six turns are made and the athlete starts to rotate, turning away from the springboard, turning his back to the direction of travel.

Ogiwara's love for snowboarding started in childhood thanks to his parents, who often took him to ski resorts. At the age of 9, he attracted the attention of the global snowboarding community with a viral video, and at the age of 12, he made his professional debut.
