No need to be shy: 5 stars who don't dye their gray hair (and rightly so!)

Darya SkubNews
Jamie Lee Curtis and Sarah Jessica Parker fell in love with their graying hair.

In the past, almost all women were ashamed of their gray locks: some hid them behind hats and scarves, and some hid them behind dye. Now, there is a new trend: more and more beauties are giving up dyes. In particular, this is facilitated by society, which gently calls gray hair "silver in the hair" and promotes naturalness.

So, how do you learn not to be complex because of age-related changes? Get inspired by the examples of celebrities who have fallen in love with gray hair and publicly encourage others to do so. Read more in the OBOZ.UA article.

1. Salma Hayek (57 years old)

Mexican and American actress Salma Hayek decided a long time ago that she would not dye her gray hair. And she kept her word! She often posts photos online with her hair, which she calls "white hair of wisdom" ("white" is hardly the right word, but these words perfectly convey the celebrity's careful attitude to the "silver" inclusions).

The movie star is now 57 years old. How does she generally perceive age-related changes? In an interview with Glamour, she said: "I thought that getting older meant that I wasn't going to work... I am. I thought that aging means that a person is no longer in love. I am in love... I don't feel like I've lost my flexibility, agility or strength."

2. Andie MacDowell (65 years old)

Lush chocolate curls were a feature of the image of American model and actress Andie MacDowell. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they began to lose their rich pigment... At first, the star dyed her strands, and then tried to accept and love them. Andy's managers were nervous about this - they said "it's not time to go gray yet". But her decision was final! "If I don't do it now, I won't have the chance to try the salt and pepper shade... As soon as I did, I realized that my instincts were right. I have never felt so honest with myself... I feel very comfortable," she said in an interview with Glamour.

3. Sarah Jessica Parker (59 years old)

In 2021, American actress Sarah Jessica Parker made a bold statement by appearing on the cover of Vogue with gray locks. In the same issue, she spoke out sharply on the topic of ageism, in particular, the age-related problems faced by women in Hollywood: "Gray hair, gray hair... Does she have gray hair? I don't know what to tell you people. It seems like society doesn't want us to enjoy who we are... I know how I look. I have no choice. What am I going to do about it? Stop aging? Disappear?"

4. Jamie Lee Curtis (65 years old)

In her youth, the American actress and writer Jamie Lee Curtis had thick brown hair of medium length. Few people remember her like this, because the star began to turn gray when she was just over 40. Now the shade of "cool blonde" has completely covered the hair of 65-year-old Jamie, and she is "rejuvenated" with a trendy pixie hairstyle. In an interview with Glamour, the star urged other women to be real: "There is an industry in the world of hiding things... Concealers, body shaping, fillers, hair accessories... Everything is to hide who we are. I want you to not mask anything... I have never felt more free creatively and physically."

5. Alexandra Grant (54)

The American artist Alexandra Grant, known as the chosen one of actor Keanu Reeves, began to turn gray quite early, at the age of 20. For some time, the celebrity disguised it. Later, when she learned that frequent dyeing can lead to breast cancer, she decided to stop. "I support the fact that every woman should choose how she looks at any age," Alexandra wrote on Instagram.
