Ukrainian singer Nina Matvienko, who died on October 8 at the age of 75, was given a 10-minute ovation. Prior to that, for four hours, her friends, fans, politicians and colleagues had been approaching the coffin of the people's artist.

OBOZREVATEL followed the farewell to the "flower-soul" of Ukrainian pop, which was attended by about three thousand people. The coffin was taken out of the National Philharmonic in Kyiv around 15:00, where it was met by hundreds of people who applauded incessantly (to see photos and videos, scroll to the bottom of the page).

The funeral service began at almost 11 o'clock. For 4 hours, Ukrainians approached the coffin with tears in their eyes, until it was taken to the Zvirynets cemetery.

As Nina Mytrofanivna's body was being carried out of the Philharmonic, the crowd outside the building and nearby applauded. For 10 minutes, applause and shouts of "bravo" were heard, addressed to the legendary Ukrainian singer whose songs became the genetic code of Ukrainians.

In a comment to the media, Tonya Matvienko called her mother Ukraine and also admitted that before her death, the artist asked her not to cry at her funeral.

As OBOZREVATEL wrote, the scandalous comedy duo Kroliki was spotted in a line outside the Philharmonic. Volodymyr Danilets and Volodymyr Moiseenko, who supported Russia, appeared in public for the first time in a year and a half, wanting to say goodbye to Nina Mytrofanivna.
