Netflix showed a trailer for the animated series about Asterix and Obelix: the premiere date is known

Netflix has presented a new trailer for the animated series about the famous Gallic heroes Asterix and Obelix. The animated series is called "Asterix and Obelix: The Big Fight" and will be a new adaptation of the popular franchise.

The announced premiere date is April 30, 2025, when the series will be available for viewing on the platform. Viewers will get a new look at the adventures of two brave Gauls who continue to fight the Roman invaders. This will be the first French-language animated version created with the participation of famous authors.

Asterix and Obelix are characters we've known since 1959, when the first comic book about their adventures was created. Since then, these characters have become iconic, and their stories have been translated into more than 120 languages. The comic book series has gone through several stages of adaptations, including numerous films and animation projects. The newest animated series promises to be another important step in the development of the franchise.

The animated series "Asterix and Obelix: The Big Fight" was created by Alain Shabat, known for his film "Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra." Shabat acts not only as a director, but also as a screenwriter, collaborating with Fabrice Joubert, who also helps to develop the series. Shabat's partner is Benoît Ulyon, who is responsible for adapting the original comics.

The main storyline of the series revolves around the last independent village of Gaul, which continues to resist the Romans. In "The Big Fight," the main threat to the Gauls is the loss of a magic potion that gives them incredible strength. When their potion master, Getafix, suddenly loses his memory, the village is on the verge of destruction. This gives the Romans one last chance to capture the territory.

This new version of the series is based on the seventh volume of the comic book series called "Clash of the Chiefs," which was released back in 1964. It tells the story of how the Gauls' village, in particular Asterix and Obelix, fights the Roman invaders when their main ally, a magic potion, becomes powerless.

On April 30, fans will be able to watch the new adaptation on Netflix.
