Mouthwatering fig cookies for fall tea party: an easy recipe

Every fall, most homes are filled with the incredible aroma of delicious pastries that bring joy and warmth. Housewives bake pies, cakes, and cookies. The filling for these products is most often seasonal fruit.

For example, food blogger Svitlana Klymovska shared a recipe for her favorite autumn fig cookies on Instagram. They are quite easy to make, tasty, and will go perfectly with tea or pumpkin latte.

Ingredients for the filling

  • peeled figs - 150 gr
  • strawberries or strawberry puree - 50 g
  • sugar - 40 g
  • corn starch - 15 g
  • water - 30 g

Ingredients for the dough

  • flour - 150 g
  • butter - 80 g
  • cream cheese - 100 g
  • powdered sugar - 30 g
  • yolk - 1 pc
  • white - 1 pc
  • sugar for powdering

The method of preparation

1. Prepare the filling. Beat figs, strawberries or puree with an immersion blender.

2. Add sugar and put on the stove.

3. Dissolve the starch in water and add it to the heated puree.

4. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

5. Pour the mixture into a bowl and cover with plastic wrap.

6. While the filling is cooling, prepare the dough. Beat the room temperature butter with cream cheese and powdered sugar. Add the egg yolk and beat again.

7. Add flour and stir until the dough stops sticking to your hands.

8. Wrap the dough in plastic film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

9. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and roll out alternately. Cut into 5x5 cm squares.

10. Put ½ tsp of the filling on each square.

11. Grease the edges of the dough with egg white and fold the envelopes.

12. Put them on a baking sheet covered with parchment and bake at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
