More than 350 bats flew into a residential building in Kyiv. They "occupied" all the nooks and crannies of the apartment, including tables, corners, ceiling, dishes.

The video was posted by Kyiv Animal Rescue Group on Facebook. Experts explain that the bats are currently hibernating and looking for homes.

"So, when you go on vacation or to the country, do not leave windows without nets open as you may be surprised by uninvited winged guests," the activists warned.

According to animal rights activists, this year, since the migration began, rescuers have repeatedly found more than 350 bats in one apartment and even in an art studio. They were trapped in windows open for ventilation. They could fly in, but not out.

Kyiv Animal reminded people that bats are animals listed in the Red Book and should be handled with care. Here are some simple rules to follow if bats come to visit you at this time of year:

- Wait until it is dark.

- Turn off the light in the room with the bats.

- Open the windows wide and pull back the curtains to allow the animals to fly out freely.

- If one or more bats do not fly away, try to put them in a box and hand them over to specialists.

- If there are still a lot of bats in the apartment, ask for help.

In August, the State Emergency Service reported that about three dozen bats were removed from an apartment in Lutsk. They had flown into the apartment on the ninth floor, which had been empty for several days with the windows open. The animals were sleeping on curtains and tulle and hanging from the wall.

The rescuers carefully caught the bats and, after making sure they were safe and sound, released them outside.

It is worth remembering that all species of bats in Ukraine are very vulnerable and therefore listed in the Red Book. If you find a bat or one flies into your home, never try to knock the animal down as it can be injured. Also, do not pick it up with your bare hands but rather wear thick gloves.

As reported earlier, a flock of bats settled on the balcony of an apartment in one of the high-rise buildings in Dnipro. They chose this place for hibernation. There were 719 bats in total.
