SSU drones hit two oil depots in Smolensk region

As a result of the SSU drone attack on Russia on the night of April 24, two fuel and lubricant storage and pumping bases in the settlements of Yartsevo and Rozdorovo were destroyed in Smolensk region. There were 26 thousand cubic meters of Russian fuel stored there.

This was reported to OBOZ.UA by its own informed sources. After the powerful explosions, a large-scale fire broke out at the facilities and the personnel was evacuated.

"The SSU continues to effectively destroy military infrastructure and logistics that provide fuel to the Russian army in Ukraine. These facilities are and will remain our absolutely legitimate targets," the source said.

On the night of April 24, Smolensk, Lipetsk and Voronezh regions of Russia were attacked by drones. Fuel and energy facilities, industrial infrastructure, an oil depot, and the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant (NLMK) were hit.

In particular, residents of the Smolensk region reported on social media that an oil depot near the village of Razdorovo (about 20 km from Smolensk) was hit by an attack by Ukrainian armed forces drones. An explosion occurred as a result of the UAV attack, and a massive fire broke out at the facility.

Also, in the evening of April 23, explosions were heard in Chernyansky district of Belgorod region. After that, a massive fire broke out near the village of Volokonovka.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- Russians were shocked by a UAV attack on their country on the night of April 24. After arrivals in the Smolensk, Lipetsk and Voronezh regions, many people began to ask on social media where the air defense system was and whether gasoline prices would rise.

- The ISW noted that the strikes by unknown UAVs and the recent floods in Russia have reduced the rate of weekly oil refining by the aggressor country. However, the drone attacks "have not yet had a significant impact on Russian refining production, as well as on domestic Russian or international supplies of crude oil and distillate products."

- Russia reports a UAV attack on the Baltimore military airfield in Voronezh. The drone was allegedly shot down, and the wreckage fell on the territory of a horticultural garden.
