Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts movie is one of the three anticipated releases of 2025 along with Captain America: Brave New World and The Fantastic Four: The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Its premiere is scheduled for May 2, 2025.

Recently, it became known that the film returned to the stage of reshoots in Atlanta after the completion of principal photography. This is a common practice for large-scale Marvel projects, although there are speculations among fans about the reasons for the additional footage, Collider writes.

According to the studio, the reshoots are not related to serious script or story problems. Usually, such work is done to correct technical issues, such as lighting or scene continuity. Some speculate that this footage may have something to do with preparations for the next big Marvel movie, Avengers: Doomsday.

Director Jake Schreyer noted that many of the movie's synopses do not correspond to reality. For example, the story is not limited to the task the team received from Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. He emphasized that the main theme of the movie is the team's difficult path to cooperation and trust.

The cast of The Thunderbolts includes well-known characters from previous films: Florence Pugh as Elena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Mist and others. According to Schreyer, these characters have no natural reason to work together, which makes their interaction particularly tense and interesting.

The filmmakers promise an unexpected approach to the genre. As Schreier mentioned, the team of heroes will be more like characters from the cult films Ronin or Reservoir Dogs, where conflicts and distrust between the participants only add to the drama.
