Marine drones, 500 destroyed tanks and exposure of Russian agents: expert names Security Service of Ukraine's main achievements of 2023

In 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine demonstrated a high level of effectiveness in countering Russian aggression both on the front line and in the rear. That is why, according to sociological surveys, Ukrainians' trust in this structure has grown to a record 71%, the highest figure since the existence of independent Ukraine and the highest among all law enforcement agencies.

Oleksandr Chernenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 8th convocation, former head of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, and public figure, is convinced of this. He believes that the Security Service of Ukraine's credibility has been enhanced by the use of maritime drones to hit enemy targets at sea, the exposure of collaborators among representatives of the Ukrainian Ortodox Church, and the impressive numbers of enemy equipment destroyed on the front line.

Chernenko emphasized the successes demonstrated by the Special Forces in the Black Sea.

"American professor Timothy Snyder considers the victory at sea to be the main victory for Ukraine in 2023. It was achieved thanks to the Security Service of Ukraine marine drones. Western experts emphasize that this development of the Service has changed the balance of power in the Black Sea. Russia, which considered itself the master in the region, is now out of control and has actually been forced to withdraw a significant part of its fleet, and the ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet are constantly taking off," the expert emphasized.

Chernenko also mentioned the successes of special forces at the front line. The effective elimination of enemy equipment and manpower could not but affect the attitude of Ukrainians towards the Security Service of Ukraine.

"The cost of Russian equipment destroyed by Security Service of Ukraine units (in particular, the fighters of the Special Operations Center "A") since the beginning of the war is more than $2 billion. In 2023, the Service destroyed more than 500 tanks alone. Among the destroyed tanks are the latest T-90 and T-90M, which cost almost $5 million each," he said.

The Security Service of Ukraine is also responsible for the exposure of collaborators in the rear. In particular, enemy agents, propagandists and adjusters were found in the ranks of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as well as among officials and ordinary citizens.

"233 traitors are now awaiting trial. 82 are already serving long sentences. The Security Service of Ukraine has taken up the topic that the state has been avoiding for 30 years and cleaned up the network of agents. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church has an extensive network of agents that Russia has been recruiting for many years. For the first time since independence, the Security Service of Ukraine has begun to systematically expose this network. The Security Service of Ukraine is investigating more than 70 criminal proceedings against the clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church," Chernenko emphasized.

Earlier, it became known that during 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine destroyed more than 500 Russian tanks in a year. T-90 and T-90M - that are worth almost $ 5 million - are among them.
