Professional makeup artists say that makeup longevity depends on skin care, which is the most important step to ensure that foundation and other makeup products last all day. Proper skincare ensures that your makeup stays intact, providing a natural glow and an even complexion.

Try to keep your morning skincare routine simple but effective. During the warmer months, the skin produces a lot more oil and sweat, and the last thing it needs is multiple slippery layers of moisturizers under foundation.

Skin type matters

It is imperative to take your skin type into account when creating a daily care algorithm. Fighting oiliness and dryness will have a significant impact on makeup durability.

Avoid products that are too drying or matting. "In the warm season, we tend to completely ignore products that mention the effect of moisturizing and prefer matting gels. However, thirsty skin produces more sebum, and mattifying products will clog pores," explains makeup artist Rein Tauber.

For oily skin, the expert advises choosing a light moisturizing base or primer. Those with dry skin should buy a moisturizing primer and liquid foundation. Combination skin requires a balanced approach.

Waterproof formulas are designed to protect against moisture. If you use a lightweight waterproof foundation in the warm season, you will minimize the risk of makeup melting. The products should have a consistency that adds a slight hint of color when applied and gives the skin a more natural look.

Setting spray

If you have an important event coming up and want to look flawless, choose a setting spray or translucent powder that ensures your makeup stays put. It also prevents shine from forming on your face. Excess oil can be blotted off with special matting wipes.

And the main tip - do not forget about a high-quality cream with an SPF level of more than 30. Sunscreen protects against the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays and is crucial for maintaining youthful skin.
