Lavrov shares how Russia will "take revenge" on IOC

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has discredited itself with its statement on discrimination against athletes, which says that "athletes cannot be held responsible for their governments." According to Lavrov, the IOC acts exclusively in favor of Western countries.

The diplomat boasted that Russia is organizing alternative games in retaliation for such "shameful" and "outrageous" actions.

"I think we will organize a number of sporting events on the initiative of the president that will be truly international, truly universal. They will respect the principles enshrined in the Olympic Charter, which the IOC is grossly violating," the Russian minister said.

In response, Russian fans ridiculed Lavrov for his work and the work of his ministry.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said she demanded that the IOC lift sanctions against Russian athletes. The diplomat criticized the organization after its call to prevent discrimination because of Israel's war against Hamas.
