Fires continue to rage in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation, with several more appearing in a field near Rostov. As a result, dense smog has covered the western part of the city.

Local media report that several fires have been reported in the Donskoy Nature Park, which occupies a large part of the Don River mouth. They are visible from the satellite.

Eyewitnesses say that the grass has been burning for a day and in the evening of August 23, it flared up with renewed vigor.

The network notes that there is no one to extinguish these wildfires. This is due to the fact that all available emergency workers are engaged in extinguishing the oil depot in Proletarsk, Rostov region.

Media reports say that smog from the burning oil depot has already reached Rostov, Novocherkassk and Shakhty. Due to the wind, the plume of black smoke from the fire in Proletarsk stretched for almost 100 kilometers.

And on August 23, the Russians complained that the "Ukrainian Armed Forces had attacked" the facility in Proletarsk again. But this was obviously not enough, and later on Friday, the second fire in a week broke out in the city as someone set fire to reeds.

As reported, DIU, in cooperation with other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, attacked the Kavkaz Plant in Rostov Region on the night of August 18. At least two fires were recorded at the base.

Russian firefighters were unable to extinguish the fire. ROC priests from the Volgodonsk Diocese arrived at the scene, held a prayer service and read an akathist nearby, but the tanks continued to explode. For six days, the sky over Proletarsk was covered with thick black smoke, and locals are coughing en masse.
