High school students in one of Kyiv's schools received textbooks on the subject of "Defense of the Fatherland," which depicted Ukrainian defenders in Russian uniforms and with an enemy sniper rifle. Parents raised the alarm about this situation, but the educational institution says that they have no other literature for teaching.

If you search for the image from the textbook online, you will find that the original photo directs you to Russian websites that talk about enemy Ratnik equipment and AK rifles. In an interview with Channel 5, school principal Vasyl Antoniuk said that if the textbook could not be published, the Ministry of Education and Science would have announced a ban.

"They should not be distributed in schools anymore. Well, I'm sorry, I don't find any such reference in this book that this textbook should no longer be published. And, by the way, if it is, I think that the Ministry of Education would have sent appropriate letters and indicated the ban," says the head of the educational institution.

At the same time, schoolchildren who were shown the photos immediately noticed that the uniforms were not Ukrainian and that the Russian military were depicted in the book.

Oleksiy Godzenko, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assured that the photo shows the occupiers. In particular, the soldiers are wearing 6-B 43 assault vests and 6B47 helmets. These are all elements of the Ratnik kit. There is also an AK 107 rifle, which was not previously available in Ukraine. In addition, according to Godzenko, the man behind is holding a Russian Orsis T 5000 rifle, which is manufactured in Moscow.

According to Inna Sovsun, MP and co-author of the program "Protection of Ukraine", the problem is the quality of textbooks checked by the Institute for Modernization of Education Content. She assures that this service is unable to adequately control the proper standard of compliance of publications.
