Knitted underpants, frog slippers and more: the oddest trends of 2023, which will not be understood in Ukraine

The year 2023 was rich in strange trends that never reached Ukrainian fashionistas. It's no secret that fashion is cyclical, so there's a chance that we'll take these unusual trends out of the closet sometime later.

The list of the most interesting ones was compiled by VOGUE. It includes knitted underpants, frog slippers, and other unusual items that were surprisingly popular among the fashion community.

Knitted underpants

In March 2023, designer Miuccia Prada introduced a new trend to the fashion world: models walked the runway wearing knitted men's underwear over tights. The trend was supported by many celebrities, who wore the fashion item to the red carpet of prestigious awards shows.

Frog slippers

This year, JW Anderson presented unusually cute shoes inspired by children and animals. He chose frogs as the "main animals of the world" and "released" them on the fashion runway in the form of rubber slippers. Subsequently, green funny shoes could be seen on rapper A$AP Rocky, model Emily Ratajkowski and other famous stars.

Towel skirt

The Balenciaga fashion house is famous for two things: non-standard fashion solutions and scandals. In 2023, the brand presented a gray towel skirt worth $925.

Lionel Messi's jersey

The fashion world probably did not expect this trend, although sports have always had an impact on the industry. This year's phenomenon of Messi's pink jersey is proof of that. After the Argentine joined the American club Inter Miami, the pink Adidas shirt with the number 10 became extremely popular.

Boxer shorts

The topic of underwear is not over: shorts in the style of men's boxers have become another trend this year. The item became popular thanks to TikTok.
