A kindergarten will be opened in the subway in Kharkiv so that children can study

Kharkiv plans to open a kindergarten at subway stations. This was reported by the Kharkiv City Council.

The message appeared on the official website of the department. It says that on January 6, 2024, training for groups of senior school age with a short stay will begin.

"The Executive Committee of the Kharkiv City Council supported the decision to organize the educational process in groups for older preschool children in the premises of the Kharkiv Metro. Training in the subway in groups for older preschool children with a short stay will begin on January 6, 2024 ," the statement said.

It also states that groups will be created at 5 metro stations. Among them are Universytet, Peremoha, Akademika Pavlova, Metrostroitelnykiv, and Traktorny Zavod.

Earlier, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that the capacity of the underground school was running out, as the number of people wishing to attend classes in person was increasing. In particular, the city administration noted that if there are even more children, new classes will be created. In addition, it is planned to create other safe educational institutions, such as the first underground school.
