American astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy has published another incredible color space photo, which has been called a real work of art. This time, Jupiter was caught in the lens of his camera.

This photo was taken in 2022. However, Andrew decided to share it again "because it was stolen and went viral without proper context," the photographer wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

"Inspired by the incredible JWST (James Webb Space Telescope) photo, I photographed Jupiter with an 11-inch telescope and used the photos to create this work of art showing the gas giant in a new light. Such works of art can tell a story that photographs cannot, but they can be controversial," McCarthy wrote in his post.

Andrew also adds that "some people think that art has no place in a scientific environment like astrophotography." "I disagree. If we can see what we're looking at, art can inspire people to do science if it's transparent," the American photographer emphasized.

In the comments, McCarthy's followers supported him. "Wow! This is an incredible photo. Why is it controversial?", "It shouldn't be controversial. It's art, plain and simple." "If the content of the image is derived from real data, and not just presented as a repainted or composite image, it is conceptually no different from other deep space astrophotography," Andrew's art lovers wrote.
