"It would be astronomical": former world heavyweight Bellew proposes a new sparring partner for Usyk instead of Fury

Bellew speaks out about the rematch between Usyk and Fury

Former world heavyweight champion Tony Bellew has called for Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) to fight Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs) instead of a rematch with Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 14 KOs). According to the Briton, the fight between the Ukrainian and the New Zealander would be astronomical as the boxers profess different styles.

Bellew said this in an interview with the Seconds Out YouTube channel. In addition, he suggested that Fury himself and another British former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) should enter the ring as warm-up fights for Usyk and Parker. It would make for a fantastic night of boxing.

"Of course, we are all waiting for the Usyk-Fury rematch for the championship belts. If the rematch doesn’t materialise then let Usyk fight Parker and let Fury fight AJ. Those fights on the same night and same card would be absolutely astronomical," Bellew said.
