Instagram now allows you to add multiple audios to Reels: how to do it

Instagram is one of the most popular social networks in the world. Once upon a time, it was just a platform for sharing photos, and no one really spent much time on extra processing or composition – the available filters were quite enough. Over the decades, Instagram has evolved into a powerful trend-setting tool.

Recently, Instagram announced that it would allow users to add multiple audio tracks to their Reels. Experts said that they managed to learn about the innovation.

The company noted that users can add up to 20 tracks to one Reel.

To add a new track to your video:

• tap the "Add to Mix" option in the Reel editor;
• after adding tracks, you can trim them to include only the part of the audio you want.

"Running multiple audios in Reels gives you enhanced creative flexibility with the ability to visually align your audio with elements like text, stickers, and clips to express your creativity in a way that's convenient for your audience," the company said.

Instagram will attribute the overall combined track to the creator so that they can encourage their fans to reuse the unique mix. This feature eliminates the need for creators to use another editor to mix multiple audio tracks into one.

Earlier, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri said that the platform would not focus on long videos – the emphasis would continue to be on users creating and sharing short clips.

Short videos are part of the brand's identity, Instagram said.

"And we don't want to undermine it by choosing a long-term video," Mosseri summarized.
