On Monday, January 6, a high column of smoke rose in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov region of the Russian Federation, near military warehouses where raw materials for the production of rocket fuel are stored. Before that, an alarm was issued due to the threat of a missile attack.
Rostov public at about 14:20 (15:20 Rostov time) posted photos and videos from the scene. It was noted that first there was a loud explosion, after which thick smoke immediately rose near Shakhtynko-Kamenskoye.
A video showing a drone flying overhead was also posted online.
As you know, Kamensk-Shakhtynsky is home to the "Kamensky plant," an enterprise specializing in the production of rocket fuel.
There are also military warehouses or storage facilities adjacent to the plant that store raw materials for the production of rocket fuel. That's where the smoke is visible, said Andrii Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defense Council's Central Intelligence Center.
