In Japan, an incredible super goal was scored from the center of the field. Video
Thiago Santana, a Brazilian legionnaire of the Urawa football club from Saitama, scored a fantastic goal in the 6th round of the J-League (Japan's elite football division). The 31-year-old forward scored a long-range goal against FC Tokyo.
In the 24th minute, Santana, surrounded by four defenders, was running on the counterattack but decided to act unconventionally. Once in the center circle, the Brazilian sent the ball toward the goal with a cannonball.
Tokyo goalkeeper Taishi Nozawa sees the shot coming, but can't get back in time.
For Thiago, who joined the Japanese team in January 2024, this was his second goal in six matches in all competitions.
Despite this masterpiece, Urava lost (1-2). In the second half, the hosts scored two goals within 8 minutes of each other. This victory allowed Tokyo to gain 8 points, bringing them level with Urawa. The teams share 9th place in the Japanese league standings.
