"Idiots. A dying nation": Russian Olympic champion spits bile over Ukraine's flag at the Biathlon World Cup

Four-time Olympic champion Alexander Tikhonov has lashed out at Norwegian biathletes who unfurled the Ukrainian flag at the World Cup in Oberhof. The Russian, with the anger, bile, and contempt typical of Russian citizens, criticized Europeans for supporting our country.

Tikhonov said this in a comment to the VseProSport portal. In a real hate attack, the former biathlete called the Norwegians a "dying and pro-fascist nation" that never existed. The ardent supporter of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime and fan of the war in Ukraine demanded that athletes "stay out of politics."

"For me, Norway as a nation has never existed. Norwegian biathletes hide behind asthma and deceive the world sport. This is a pro-fascist nation, their land is covered with the blood of our soldiers. I have never been friends with Norwegians. They are frozen miserly people. With a billion in their pockets, they will die hungry. My advice to Norwegian biathletes is to do their job, train, compete, but stay out of politics, you are not meant to. Norwegians are just idiots, a dying nation," Tikhonov said.

Earlier, Olympic champion and State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova accused Sturla Legrand, Tarje and Johannes Tinnes Bøgh of not wanting to see Russians at international tournaments.
