Marvel Studios will soon present two new films: Venom: The Last Dance, and in the spring, fans will be introduced to the Thunderbolts team of villains. But will a newcomer, or even an experienced comic book fan, be able to understand the intricacies of the movie universe?

OBOZ.UA decided to help understand this issue. We will tell you how to watch Marvel movies in order to understand all the nuances of all plots.

What is Marvel Cinematic Universe?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a series of superhero films based on comics by the studio of the same name. The authors combined them into a common storyline. In particular, they did this through numerous references to other projects that can be found in any movie or TV show.

If the story does not contain such references, it means that it does not belong to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For example, the aforementioned Venom is a third-party story, although the antihero also belongs to the studio and is part of a group of characters related to Spider-Man.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe films are divided into phases based on the year of release. The fourth one is currently underway. The first three are united in the Infinity Saga, but the next three are collectively called the Multiverse Saga.
