How to make traditional Hanukkah donuts: recipe for Israeli sufganiyot
Jews celebrate Hanukkah every year. It marks the victory of light over darkness, as once upon a time, only one portion of oil was enough to light the temple for seven whole days. That is why it is customary to serve many dishes fried in oil on this holiday.
One of the traditional dishes for this holiday is sufganiyot. These are traditional donuts that are a must-have dish on the Hanukkah table. Chef Kareryne Peskova shared how to make this dish on Instagram.
Ingredients for 30-35 pcs
- milk - 320 ml
- eggs - 3 pcs
- yeast - 40 g
- flour - 1 kg
- sugar - 60 g
- honey - 20 g
- cognac - 30 g
- soft butter - 95 g
Method of preparation
1. Mix all the ingredients with a blender.
2. Leave the dough to rise until it doubles in size.
3. Divide it into 50 g balls and place them on the parchment cut into squares.
4. Wait until they rise again.
5. Heat the oil in a saucepan to 160-170°.
6. Fry the donuts on both sides until golden brown.
7. Fill them with vanilla custard and caramel.
