Summer gives us beautiful sunny weather, but at the same time throws in periodic waves of heat. It's hard enough to resist them when regular blackouts happen. Which, moreover, become more frequent during the hottest days.

The right recommendation for this case, as always, found in social networks. The advice was shared in TikTok by a resident of hot California @mekslife. All she uses to keep her home cool even during extreme heat when the power grid fails is foil.

The woman constructed curtains for all the windows in her home out of the reflective material. "Not only does it save money, but it keeps your home really cool," she shared.

According to her, by the time she recorded the video, it was +36 degrees Celsius outside the window. And inside her house remained a comfortable 72 Fahrenheit, which is +22 Celsius. Of course, the house was quite dark because of this, but the coolness was kept even in the heat.

One of the blogger's subscribers confirmed that the lifehack is very effective. "I used to do this when I lived in the Mojave Desert. It really works," she admitted. Others added that the same flyhack would also be effective with a car if you put the material under the window when you leave the car in the sun.

However, at the end, the woman showed exactly what kind of foil she uses for windows. It turned out that she doesn't take the first available, for example, food, but prefers thermal insulating cloth. It has a foil coating on both sides, capable of reflecting sunlight, and inside is filled with a material that does not transmit heat.
