Condensation is a nuisance in its essence. It's an ugly and annoying sight as it keeps coming back again and again.

A dehumidifier is one of the most powerful condensation controllers in the home, and experts love it. So, of course, if you have some extra dollars, it's definitely the best option. However, there is a win-win alternative for those who do not plan to spend any money at all, OBOZ.UA writes.

We are talking about a popular home remedy - ordinary salt. Salt has the ability to naturally absorb moisture from the air and, in fact, dry it out, so when it comes into contact with glass, fewer condensation droplets form.

It's a very simple trick that doesn't require any effort. Just fill a shallow bowl or small jar with salt - either table or rock one. Keep in mind that the bigger the window, the more salt you'll need, although usually one small bowl is enough.

Salt candle holders can also be quite effective. They can help reduce condensation in your home as salt is hygroscopic, which means it absorbs moisture from the air, as already said.

It should be noted that salt candle holders cannot reduce condensation when they are not burning, as their ability to absorb moisture from the air depends on the heat generated by the candle, which evaporates it.
