How to cook oatmeal to make it really delicious
The simplest and, according to experts, the most delicious and budget-friendly porridge is oatmeal. It is also very quick and easy to prepare, and tastes good both when based on water and milk.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares tips from chefs on how to cook oatmeal and what to add to it to make it healthy and tasty.
How to cook water-based oatmeal:
1. To cook oatmeal, take three parts of water to one part of oatmeal. Pour the oatmeal into a saucepan and cover with water.
2. Bring the water to a boil over high heat and add salt to taste. After boiling, reduce the heat to low and cook the porridge under a closed lid for 50-60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Season the finished porridge with butter and salt. You can also add Parmesan cheese!

- nuts
- spices
- cinnamon
- apples
- bananas
- cottage cheese
- flavored oils, e.g. truffle oil
