The microwave is one of the most important and convenient appliances in the kitchen. It helps you quickly heat food, defrost food, or even cook a full meal in a matter of minutes.

However, over time, the inner walls of a microwave oven become covered with grease, food residue, and other contaminants. Express explains how to clean them quickly, efficiently, and without using chemicals.

To extend the life of household appliances and maintain their efficiency, they need to be cleaned regularly, and the microwave is no exception.

Cleaning this appliance can seem like a daunting task, especially if you want to avoid using chemicals that can leave unpleasant odors or even harmful substances on the surfaces of the microwave. Fortunately, there are simple and effective life hacks that can help you deal with this problem.

Lemon

Cut the lemon into slices and put it in a bowl of water. Heat it in the microwave for a few minutes before you start wiping away the dirt. The steam generated by the evaporation of the water will soften the dirt, and the lemon will neutralize unpleasant odors, leaving the inside of the microwave fresh and bacteria-free.

Vinegar

Another effective method involves the use of white vinegar. Pour about 200 ml of the liquid into a microwave-safe bowl and place it inside. Heat the acid for five minutes, then wait another five minutes for the evaporation to take effect. Then carefully remove the bowl and wipe the inside of the microwave with a damp, soft cloth.
