How not to charge your smartphone in summer: dangerous mistakes
Your smartphone may get hot while charging, and that's normal. But problems can arise if you put your gadget on the charger in the heat of the day when the internal heat from the process combines with external conditions to cause overheating streaks.
To avoid this, you should know about common mistakes when charging smartphones in the heat and how to fix them. OBOZ.UA has collected the main tips from professionals.
Why you shouldn't let your smartphone overheat
When charging your phone, overheating can occur due to the use of accelerated or wireless charging. If the device gets hot during normal charging, it may also indicate a battery problem.
If you notice that your gadget is getting unusually hot when it's running on power, try your best to fix it. After all, overheating can lead to a decrease in overall performance, accelerate battery drain, and even cause critical damage to device components. Here are a few steps to help prevent your gadget from overheating while charging in the heat.
Remove the case
The presence of a case weakens the cooling of the smartphone in any situation. This is especially noticeable during charging. So in the heat, take it off while your gadget is charging. It doesn't matter if you charge it from the mains or from a power bank.
Do not charge in heated rooms
Good ventilation in the room where your smartphone is charging can be beneficial to the gadget. Especially if you have previously "undressed" it. And vice versa – the more heated and stuffy the room is, the more it will heat up the gadget. If you can't find a cool enough room, try to put your phone in the most shaded place.
Do not charge in the sun
Direct sunlight is the main heating factor in any environment. Even proximity to other heat sources is not as detrimental, although it is highly undesirable. Therefore, just never put your smartphone charging in a place lit by the sun.
Don't put your smartphone on anything soft
How often do we put our gadgets on the couch or bed next to us while they are charging? And we don't even realize that we're taking a big risk every time. A soft surface accumulates heat and accelerates the onset of overheating. Therefore, it is better to charge smartphones only on hard surfaces.
Note that these tips are relevant not only for smartphones. Batteries in any other gadget work on the same principle. Therefore, they should also be followed with tablets, smartwatches, and similar devices.
