Las Vegas Metro Search and Rescue spotted a mysterious monolith in the Nevada desert. Law enforcers are trying to find out how this mirrored structure got there.

The Las Vegas Police Department confirmed that the monolith was found along a popular hiking trail near Gass Peak. This is not the first time such mysterious pillars have appeared in the United States, People writes.

"We see a lot of strange things when people go hiking: not being prepared for the weather, not taking enough water... But look at this! A mysterious monolith near Gass Peak to the north of the valley. How did it get there?" representatives of the Las Vegas Police Department wrote on their Facebook page.

Fans of mystical phenomena are already posting thousands of comments on social media saying that the location for the "space" monolith was not chosen by chance. After all, the Gass Peak hiking trail, which is located about 30 kilometers from the northern part of the city, has a height of 2133 meters and is the highest peak in Las Vegas. So it's a sign from other worlds.

"This is so cool! The Galactic Federation is starting to show itself. We are not alone, they are among us!", "Maybe it's a portal that goes to another place", "It happened in Utah too. So cool," Facebook readers commented on the monolith's appearance.

Indeed, this is not the only mysterious appearance of unknown objects in recent years. In March of this year, a traveler stumbled upon a silver monolith in Wales, and in 2020, several such structures appeared around the world. Many believed that these cases were some form of artistic installation that compared the monolith to the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey".

However, the biggest stir was caused by the mysterious appearance and equally mysterious disappearance of the monolith in Utah in November 2020. Although the Aviation Bureau of the Utah Department of Public Safety did not disclose its exact location, thousands of mystery lovers went in search of the unknown structure. And when they finally found it, the monolith mysteriously disappeared.

The BLM Bureau of Land Management said they were not involved in the disappearance of the monolith. "The BLM did not remove the structure, which is considered private property," the department said in a statement.

However, a Denver photographer and witness, Mike Newlands, told ABC News that the metal structure was removed with a wheelbarrow during a nighttime mission by a group of four unidentified men five days after its existence was announced.
