Auto giant Honda has announced some bad news for drivers. The price of the Civic Type R will rise again. The popular model will cost $800 more than last year, which is $1900 more than the 2023 model.

The Type R 2025 will start at $46,690. The details were reported by Motor1.

The company is not expected to make any changes to the Type R in 2025, so it remains unclear what you will need to pay extra money for.

The FL5 Civic Type R went on sale for $43,990 before the first price hike. Honda shared that last year's increase was due to "higher costs associated with production and logistics."

The Civic Type R is powered by Honda's 2-liter four-cylinder engine with 315 horsepower, which drives the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission, the only transmission available.

While the Volkswagen Golf R also starts at $46,890, the Toyota GR Corolla is much cheaper - $37,635, and offers similar power output and transmission scheme, albeit with one less cylinder.
