If you love doing makeup, you are at least familiar with the concept of contouring. The idea is to shade with special cosmetics the areas of your face that you want to visually reduce.

But it seems like you've been doing it wrong all along. Usually, you apply the sculptor on the hollow under your cheekbone and then blend it out, than emphasize the natural shadow. This is supposed to make your face look visually thinner. However, Makeup's TikTok blog has posted a lifehack that can turn this notion upside down.

According to the authors of the video, contouring by applying a line under the cheekbone makes the face look like a marionette's face. Instead, they suggested an improved technique that will visually lift your face.

All you'll need from additional tools is your fingers. Make a "victory" sign with them and put them on your face so that your index finger goes through the outer corner of your eye and touches the tail of your eyebrow, and your middle finger touches the hollow of your cheekbone near your ear.

Now take your contouring tool and run it along your middle finger to the center of your face, and then in the opposite direction along your index finger. On the cheekbone should appear a not insignificant in size tick.

After that, carefully blend the sculptor and lift it towards the cheekbone. Your face will instantly take on a more lifted look. And all this without pronounced streaks and unwanted effects.

However, in the comments noted that this method may not suit those who have high and well-defined cheekbones. Such blending may emphasize them too much. But most faces this method will suit perfectly. It is in any case worthy of trying.
