Gym, entertainment room and puffy duvets: what the world's first private space station, which resembles a luxury hotel, looks like

Haven-1 is a startup led by a famous former Apple designer that claims to have developed the world's first commercial space station. It features a stunning interior that will make space travel much more comfortable.

The private space station resembles a luxury hotel with soft white walls and a gym. It will also include private rooms with entertainment, puffy duvets and online communication tech to contact home, The Sun reports.

Vast has developed the first private space station, which will be placed in Earth orbit next year using a SpaceX Falcon rocket. The first customers are scheduled to board in 2026. And judging by the published designs of the station's cozy interior, they will feel right at home, wired.com reports.

Vast used fine-grained maple wood, a modern favorite of home interior designers. It adds warmth and elegance to any space, and now to actual space. The station will have four separate rooms, each with a built-in storage compartment, dressing table, and an individual set of amenities. In addition, the developers have worked hard to improve sleep for space visitors, which can be uncomfortable due to weightlessness.

Experts have developed a puffy space duvet that should promote a good night's rest - not something easily achieved in space.

"This is not just any old duvet. It’s a duvet that inflates, creating this equal pressure up against you which allows for a beautiful, comfortable night’s rest," explains Hillary Coe, Vast's design and marketing director, who previously worked as a lead designer at SpaceX for five years and has held similar positions at Starlink, Google, and Apple.

The common area with a deployable table and domed window viewing spot is located in the center of the station.

Space enthusiasts will be able to stay at the station for up to 30 days, but it is not yet clear how much such a trip will cost. Given that a seat aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft to the ISS can cost about $55 million, Haven-1 will also be available to the richest only.

However, despite the fact that this space station creates a cozy hotel-like atmosphere, Haven-1 is planned to house state-of-the-art equipment for scientific research too. The developers explain that they want to improve the crew's sense of comfort, not create a place for a luxury vacation in space.

"We are not building a luxury hotel in space, we are applying design to enhance crew cohesion, productivity, safety, communication to help sovereign astronauts and self-funded private individuals achieve their important orbital mission objectives," says CEO Max Haot.
