The main astronomical event of this week is the appearance of the February full moon, the Snow Moon, which peaks on Wednesday, February 12. Astronomers also advise to fully enjoy the parade of planets, which will be full by the end of February.

According to NASA, the full phase of the Snow Moon peaked on Wednesday morning. But by Thursday evening, this shining ball will look full and bright, CNN writes.

According to astronomers, the Snow Moon got its name from the heavy snowfall that usually occurs in February. And although this full moon is not a supermoon, it will delight observers with its brightness against the snowy landscape.

Experts assure that you don't need binoculars or a telescope to observe the Snow Moon, it is visible to the naked eye in a cloudless sky. However, a cup of cocoa and a warm blanket will not be superfluous on a frosty February evening.

NASA also reminds us of the parade of planets that started in January. According to astronomers, after the sun sets, you can see four planets simultaneously with the naked eye – Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.

Uranus and Neptune are also in the sky, but you can only see them with a telescope. And in late February, Mercury will appear directly above the horizon, shining brightly at dusk.
