From admiration to disappointment: Ukrainians gave their assessment of the movie "Joker: Folie à Deux"

Today, on October 3, the movie "Joker: Folie à Deux" about the relationship between one of Gotham's most famous villains, the Joker, and Harley Quinn, played by the star Lady Gaga, was released in cinemas in Ukraine. Like foreign moviegoers, Ukrainians are also divided on the movie: some consider it great, while others are disappointed.

This movie is a sequel to the first part of The Joker about an antagonist from Gotham, the city Batman protects. On the IMDb website, the rating of the second movie is only 5.6/10 points. Judging by the reactions of viewers on the social network X, this seems to be a fair assessment, as opinions about the film are split 50/50.

There was a lot of unconstructive criticism from the audience, but they only shared their impressions and comparisons with the first Joker movie:

• "The new Joker is a disappointment, don't waste your time."
• "The new Joker is fine".
• "The Joker is f*cking awesome. Emotionally charged, nauseating and exhausting. I leave the theater and hear Gaga's piercing voice in my back."
• "When I watched Joker 2 today, I wondered how much shit Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga read on Twitter (H.'s social network - Ed.) to play psychos so well."
• "I watched Joker 2. It's even further and deeper than the first one. And it has little to do with the first one. It's cool."

One Internet user compared it to the song by Scriabin and Natalia Mogilevska "You Don't Give Me": "Joker: Folie à Deux" is like that, but stretched over two hours."

In particular, Ukrainians believe that the second part of the sequel should not have been filmed. It's worth noting that the first Joker's rating on IMDb is 8.4 points.

The SLAY MUSIC Telegram channel expressed their disappointment: "The new Joker is a disappointment, don't waste your time. I gave the movie 6 points, but it's probably because of my love for seeing Lady Gaga on the screen. It's very sad that they cut a lot of scenes from teasers and trailers, which makes the movie look torn. Lady Gaga is like an expensive and short music video that you can't enjoy. The second part about the Joker is not very necessary, but we have what we have. I expected more from the trailer."
