For the first time in history! The Biathlon World Cup race ended with a unique result. Video

The Finnish biathlon team won the single mixed relay for the first time in its history at the World Cup. Tero Seppälä and Suvi Minkinen won gold medals for their team at the 4th stage in Oberhof, Germany.

The race began at a high pace, with the teams of Germany, Austria and France leading from the first stages. Ukraine's Anton Dudchenko stayed in the top five at the initial stages, but the high pace of the race and shooting errors affected the team's position.

The Finnish duo confidently passed all stages of the race, demonstrating stability both on the shooting range and on the track.

The key moment occurred at the last shooting, where Minkinen was the only one to shoot without a miss, snatching the lead from her rivals. On the final lap, the Finnish biathlete maintained her advantage despite the pursuit of the French and German women.

The 30-year-old Minkinen showed incredible speed on the last lap and brought her team a historic victory. France took second place, and the German team took third.

Ukraine, represented by Anton Dudchenko and Iryna Petrenko, finished the race in 13th position. Despite several accurate firing lines, it proved difficult to compete at high speeds with the leaders.

As OBOZ.UA reported, during the 4th stage of the World Cup, Norwegian biathletes Sturla Legreid, Tarjei and Johannes Tingnes Bøgh unfurled the flag of Ukraine, provoking hysteria in Russia.

A similar action by the Norwegians took place after the sprint. Olympic champion and 6-time world biathlon champion Sturla Legreid, together with his countryman Martin Uldahl (winner of the World Youth Championships), supported Pidruchnyi with the flag of Ukraine.
