For the first time in history! A unique situation has developed at the Biathlon World Cup

For the first time in history, the Norwegian national biathlon team has fielded seven biathletes at the mass start of the Biathlon World Cup, Suspilne reports. This unique event took place at the sixth stage of the season in Antholz/Anterselva, Italy.

Johannes Bø, Johannes Dahle, Tarjei Bø, Vetle Christiansen, Endre Strømsheim, Sturla Lægreid and Vebjørn Sørum took part in the race at the same time.

According to the regulations, Norway can field six biathletes at each World Cup. However, under the new rules, the Norwegians received an additional spot, which went to last season's IBU Cup winner Endre Strømsheim.

The quota for all subsequent stages is six places, but the Scandinavians entered seven participants in the mass start in Antholc due to their successful performances this season. Vebjørn Sørum, who is 20th in the overall World Cup standings, took part in the race.

Christiansen won the mass start, followed by Dale-Skjevdal. Five Norwegians finished in the top 6 overall, with only Strømsheim (11th) and Lægreid (18th) finishing outside the top 10.

Ukraine was represented by Artem Pryma. Our compatriot did not perform well, taking the last place.
