Football stars accepted the invitation: UAF on the congress during which the new head of the organisation will be chosen

According to the decision of the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), the extraordinary XXVI Congress of the UAF will be held on January 25, 2024, at the Football House (Kyiv, beginning at 12:00). A new president of the organization is to be elected.

As you know, the UAF Executive Committee instructed the administration and the presidium of the association to take all measures provided for by the charter to prepare and hold an extraordinary congress. Control over the implementation of this decision is entrusted to the first vice president of the UAF Vadym Kostiuchenko, the association's official website reports.

"We are now in the final stages of preparation for the Congress. All relevant services and departments of the UAF are performing their duties efficiently, so everything is going according to the approved schedule. Earlier, we reported that we had received confirmation of participation in the congress of delegates from all members of the UAF. Oleh Blokhin and Ihor Belanov, the winners of the Golden Ball, Serhii Rebrov, the head coach of the national team of Ukraine, Vadym Hutsait, the head of the NOC of Ukraine, and Matvii Bidnyi, the acting Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, will come to the Football House as guests," the official said.

He added that the congress will also be attended by former leaders of the federation: former Prime Minister of Ukraine Valerii Pustovoitenko, UEFA honorary member Hryhorii Surkis and legendary player and former coach of the national team of Ukraine Anatolii Konkov.

"The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Youth and Sports, Lieutenant General Andrii Kozhemiakin, President of the National Committee for Sports for the Disabled of Ukraine Valerii Sushkevych and Presidential Commissioner for Rehabilitation of Combatants Vadym Svyrydenko also accepted our invitations," Kostiuchenko said.
