Execusion lists, crematoria and mass graves: Budanov reveals Putin's plan for the genocide of Ukrainians he harbored since 2021
Russia was preparing for a new genocide of the Ukrainian people long before the full-scale invasion. The aggressor's plans included the mass extermination of Ukrainians, and for this purpose, the Russians were preparing mobile crematoria and making plans for mass graves.
Also, before the full-scale invasion began, Russia compiled execution lists that included representatives of a number of categories. Kyrylo Budanov, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, spoke about this at the forum "Genocidal Practices of the Russian Federation in Ukraine: From the Holodomor to the Russian-Ukrainian War" on November 22.
The Russian military and political leadership began laying the groundwork for the genocide of Ukrainians even before February 24, 2022. An article by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, published in July 2021, became a kind of "manifesto" of Russia's true intentions. In it, the so-called president of the Russian Federation denied the right of the Ukrainian nation to exist.
After that, the cultivation of hatred and dehumanization of Ukrainians in Russia came in full force.
"Thus, Russian propagandists, high-ranking officials and the entire state machine, having received such a blessing from their leader, have repeatedly called for the destruction of Ukrainians," Budanov noted.
Russian propaganda has managed to drive the idea of the total extermination of Ukrainians into the minds of most Russians.
"The genocide of Ukrainians is not only a state policy of the Russian Federation but also a mandatory public belief approved by the country's leadership," the DIU chief said.
Russia then proceeded to take practical steps to prepare for the planned genocide. The Russian invaders who were to participate in the full-scale invasion of Ukraine were instructed on the location of the collective graves of the Ukrainians they had killed. Those who were to be killed first were also identified.
"[The execution lists] were to include teachers of the Ukrainian language, literature, history, ATO veterans, journalists, scholars, writers, priests of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and others who supported Ukraine, including public and political figures, heads of state and local authorities," Budanov listed.
All these "instructions" included all the regions that they were able to occupy in whole or in part.
"We have seen horrific mass crimes against Ukrainian citizens, the fact of which the whole world knows today. The atrocities committed by the Russian Armed Forces in Borodianka, Bucha, Hostomel, Izium, Mariupol and many other Ukrainian cities and towns showed that these identical and synchronized actions were based on clear doctrinal provisions of the Russian genocidal policy of both government and military leadership," the Chief of Military Intelligence of Ukraine summarized.
Earlier, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine confirmed that Russia had developed a document that provided for the division of Ukraine. In it, the Russians "planned" the dismemberment of our country into three parts for the period 2026-2035 with a prospect of 2045.
Thus, in the dreams of the Russians, one of these parts - "new regions of the Russian Federation" - was to include the temporarily occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson regions and Crimea with Sevastopol as part of Russia.
The second part - a "pro-Russian state entity" that has no right to join NATO and the EU but required to welcome Russian troops - was supposed to be formed from a number of northern, central, and partially western regions, including Kyiv.
The third part - the "disputed territories" - are the western regions of Ukraine, the future of which Russia was going to "negotiate" with Hungary, Poland, and Romania.
There is a possibility that Moscow may be trying to pass on its "plan" to the United States.
