"The Golden Globes is a gala dinner that is broadcast live. The stars who leave their tables in the magic circle area in front of the cameras cannot return to their seats until it's time for a commercial break. There are no exceptions. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jared Leto, Robert Downey Jr, Carey Mulligan, Bill Hader, Timothy Chalamet, Brie Larson, Billie Eilish and others were among the celebrities who had to wait patiently at different times of the broadcast for the green light to sit down again. Influence and status don't matter here: if you don't have time to return to your table during the break, you have to wait for the next opportunity.

For public figures, such ceremonies become an opportunity to discuss gossip or agree on potential cooperation. Journalists noticed that actor Joaquin Phoenix and Mattel CEO Inon Kreutz were having a very long dialog before the ceremony. At the third hour of the show, Florence Pugh and Hunter Shafer were chatting animatedly with several other women at the bar in the back of the ballroom. Meanwhile, Meryl Streep was bombarded with requests for selfies as she visited the ladies' room. The Oscar-winning star did not refuse anyone, although she clearly did not like the inability to get to the restroom.

Mark Hamill, the star of the cult "Star Wars" movie, was at the epicenter of a "mystical" incident at the ceremony. Journalists joke that he "brought an invisible force with him." When the actor was announcing the winners in one of the categories, he "praised" the award for the "open bar" in his speech. At the same second, a loud sound of breaking glass was heard throughout the hall.

Pedro Pascal, star of the TV series The Last of Us, attracted a lot of attention that evening. First, he appeared at the ceremony with a broken arm, which was securely wrapped in a brace. He explained to Variety that he fell down the stairs at his family's home and is awaiting surgery later this month. The actor expects to be ready to return to work in time for the start of filming the second season of The Last of Us in mid-February.
