The nighttime "cotton" at the Tatarstan refinery is a joint operation of the SBU and the DIU. A Ukrainian long-range drone hit the primary oil refining unit at the oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, after which a fire broke out there.

OBOZ.UA learned about this from its sources. The capacity of the affected unit was 8 million tons of oil, which is 2.6% of the total annual refining of the Russian Federation per year. In addition, this plant is one of the five largest refineries in Russia.

"We continue to work systematically to ensure that Russia has fewer and fewer opportunities to finance its war of aggression against Ukraine. We will continue to cut off oxygen to the gas station country to minimize the flow of petrodollars to the Russian military budget," the source said.
