"Doesn't share secrets": Ukrainian athlete talks about his relationship with Maguchikh
Ukrainian javelin thrower Artur Felfner has admitted that joint training with Olympic champion Yaroslava Maguchikh helps him. The 20-year-old athlete noted that he is particularly interested in how the high jumper psychologically adjusts before competitions and copes with emotions.
Felfner said this in an interview with Suspilne Sport. The 2024 Olympics participant added that Maguchykh tries to keep her tricks secret, which help her not only win competitions but also break historical records.
"She doesn't share her secrets of success, but I ask her very often. I was with her at the start of the Diamond League in Paris when she broke the world record. Of course, I'm interested, I ask: "How do you set yourself up? How do you get motivated to jump when you are already a world record holder?" She tells me, and this also gives me such an experience. I already understand how she deals with it, and I take something from it," Phelfer said.
It should be noted that Maguchikh won the first stage of the Diamond League after the 2024 Olympics. Felfner took fourth place in this tournament, setting a national record.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Olympic champion Yaroslava Maguchikh came out to protest in the center of Kyiv, expressing support for the defenders of Ukraine in the confrontation with Russian aggression.
