The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine plans to increase funding for education for specialties that the state will need in the future. At the same time, the share of state funding will decrease for some specialties.

The main funding for the latter will come from grants. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vynnytskyi during a telethon.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Education and Science, it is planned to increase the number of budgetary and grant places for doctors, teachers, psychologists, civil engineers, and agronomists starting in 2025. However, for some popular specialties, the share of one hundred percent of budget funding will be lower.

"Such specialties that have traditionally been popular, such as law, economics, marketing, and restaurant business, are likely to receive much less government contracts and public funds in the future," Vynnytskyi said.

Earlier, Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi named 7 specialties that the state critically needs. These include teachers, doctors, rehabilitation specialists, psychologists, engineering, natural sciences, agriculture, and information technology.

It is worth reminding that the 2024 admission campaign provided grants for students to receive higher education. However, such changes do not provide for a form of traditional state order.
