Skin care expert tells what not to do with your face

New York-based board-certified dermatologist Shereen Idriss has identified five mistakes men and women make when it comes to their skincare routine. The face is known to require intensive care, especially under conditions of stress, poor environment, health problems, and dry climates.

To keep the skin supple and clean for as long as possible, Shereen Idriss advised protecting it from external factors. The dermatologist shared what she wouldn't do to her face on TikTok, where the video has garnered over a million views and 61 thousand likes.

Reusing towels

The expert warned that wiping your face with the same towel two or three times in a row is like putting on dirty underwear after a shower. It is safer to use disposable napkins or, for example, several small towels that can be washed once a week.

Blackhead or blackhead "suckers"

The dermatologist emphasized that she does not recommend using vacuum devices to "suck out" blackheads or blackheads. According to her, this method of cleansing can harm sebaceous filaments and lead to microtrauma.

Expired sunscreen

Shereen would never put sunscreen on her face that had already expired. She advised to buy a new product that would actually protect the skin from UV radiation.

Botox

Although this is against the dermatologist's interests, she decided to warn her clients against overusing Botox and fillers. According to the expert, the face should be given time to return to its original appearance, so do not inject Botox as soon as even a single wrinkle appears.

Young girls with micro-wrinkles, the doctor believes, should not go to a cosmetologist with this request because they will look ugly by the time they are 50 if they start this journey too early.

Serum with hyaluronic acid

The dermatologist said that excessive use of this serum, which is supposed to help the skin retain moisture, can lead to redness and inflammation. She herself excluded this product from her daily skincare routine.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that actress Brooke Shields admitted what she would never do with her eyebrows. She has already made a mistake once, so she is not going to repeat it.
