Denied deposit refund: how a disappointed Testa customer lost $2,500

The scandalous Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup truck was promised to be cheap when it was unveiled a few years ago. When the model was shown in a production version, the EV went up in price by 2 times. Recently, one of the disappointed buyers was denied a refund.

This became known to Carscoops. The buyer said that he made a deposit of $2,500 when ordering a Tesla Cybertruck on December 28. The company representative said that the car should be received by December 30.

Tesla's readiness to fulfill the order for the car within two days indicates that the company has accumulated a lot of stock. The excitement quickly waned, and the "trendy" Cybertruck electric pickup truck turned out to be not so popular.

Anyway, the buyer was not ready for such quick delivery, so he asked to extend the time or transfer the deposit to the next purchase. The company replied that the order would be canceled and the deposit would not be returned. This turned out to be a disappointing result.

Interestingly, the terms of the preliminary reservation specified a non-refundable deposit. Obviously, the potential buyer did not pay attention to this. After all, other breands usually return deposits, as it is a well-known practice.
