Delicious and airy apple pie: ideal for those who keeps the figure
Apple pie is one of the most popular types of baked goods. There are many recipes for it, each of which is unique and creates a completely new dish. But all of these recipes have one thing in common – an unusually interesting taste and wonderful aroma.
Blogger Svitlana Levytska shared one of her apple pie recipes on Instagram. Cooking according to it, you will get a delicious and airy apple pie that will not harm your figure.
Ingredients for the dough
- Egg yolks - 4 pcs
- Softened butter - 200 gr
- Flour - 150 gr
- Baking powder - 1 tsp.
Ingredients for the filling
- Apples - 1.5 kg
- Sugar - 150 g
- Lemon juice - 1 pc
- Lemon zest - 1 pc
Ingredients for the meringue
- Proteins - 4 pcs
- Sugar - 180 gr
Method of preparation
1. Prepare the dough. Beat the yolks with butter, add flour and baking powder, and knead the dough.
2. Divide into 2 unequal parts.
3. Wrap in plastic wrap. Put 1/3 in the freezer, and 2/3 in the refrigerator.
4. Prepare the filling. Stew the peeled and grated apples in a frying pan with sugar, zest, and lemon juice until the moisture has completely evaporated.
5. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
6. Prepare the meringue. Beat the egg whites with sugar until stiff peaks form.
7. Roll out most of the dough and line the mold. Put the apples in.
8. Rub half of the smaller part of the dough on top of the apples.
9. Put the meringue on the dough and rub the remaining dough on the meringue.
10. Bake for 40-60 minutes at 180 degrees depending on the oven.
11. Serve chilled.
