Consequences of the missile attack on the capital

On Tuesday, January 23, the terrorist country of Russia launched a missile attack on Kyiv. As a result of the attack, buildings in several districts of the capital were damaged, and children were among the victims.

The relevant photos were published by the press service of the Kyiv City Military Administration. All services are working at the scene.

"Consequences of a missile strike in the Solomianskyi district of the capital," the Kyiv RMA said.

The published photos show that the explosion damaged the building, and the blast wave smashed windows in residential buildings.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko, as of 8:07 a.m., five people were injured at different addresses in the Solomianskyi district of the capital. All of them are hospitalized.

"A non-residential two-story building is on fire in the Sviatoshynskyi district. The services are working on the spot. So far, there are 7 victims of the morning attack on the capital. Most of them are in Solomianskyi district. Six people were hospitalized. One victim, a 13-year-old boy, was treated on the spot," Klychko said.

In addition, according to the mayor, an unexploded warhead was found in one of the apartments in a residential building in the Sviatoshynskyi district.

Later, the Kyiv RMA clarified that, unfortunately, a woman was killed in the Russian missile attack.

At 8:28 a.m., the mayor of Kyiv informed that 9 people were injured in the Solomianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts of the capital as a result of the morning enemy attack.

"8 people were hospitalized. In particular, one victim is undergoing resuscitation. And one, a 13-year-old boy, was treated on the spot," Klychko said.

At 8:38 a.m., the Kyiv mayor said that one victim was found in the Pecherskyi district, where a non-residential building was hit. Emergency services continue to extinguish the fire.

According to the Kyiv police, as of 8:45 a.m., civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and cars were damaged in the Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, and Pecherskyi districts.

At 10:32 a.m., the mayor of the capital reported that the number of people injured in the missile attack had increased to 20.

"13 of them are hospitalized, including three children. One 13-year-old boy and six adult victims were treated on the spot. One woman was resuscitated. She is in a serious condition in the intensive care unit, but she is alive!" Klychko emphasized.

According to the press service of the Kyiv patrol police, in connection with the elimination of the consequences of the missile attack on the city of Kyiv and the protection of the scene, traffic is blocked at the following addresses:

  • Intersection of Ivan Dziuba Street and General Potapov Street;
  • Akademika Tupoleva Street in both directions;
  • Bohdanivska Street;
  • Intersection of Povitroflotskyi Avenue and Stadionna Street.

In addition, it was reported that the Ukrzaliznytsia sports complex in Kyiv was damaged by shelling. There is a casualty.

"Every day, more than half a thousand children of railway workers and temporarily displaced families, including those from Mariupol, Melitopol, Kherson, train at Lokomotyv... Fortunately, there were no children on the territory of the complex at the time of the accident. The extent of the damage will be assessed after the rescue operations are completed. The training sessions have been canceled for today, but the future of our children will not be destroyed so easily," the press service said.

According to the State Emergency Service, as of 11:41 a.m., 21 people were injured in Kyiv as a result of hostile shelling.

In particular, a high-rise building was damaged in Sviatoshynskyi district, and 2 cars caught fire nearby. 19 people were evacuated from the building. At another address, a fire broke out in apartments with a total area of 30 square meters, destroying balconies from the 1st to the 5th floor. One victim was found and handed over to paramedics, who are currently fighting for her life. In addition, 30 people were taken out into the fresh air. At the third location, a fire broke out in a 2-story building on the area of 20 square meters. 5 vehicles were damaged by enemy shelling.

A 1-story non-residential building on the area of 150 square meters caught fire in the Pecherskyi district. The fire is currently extinguished. In Solomianskyi district, a 2-story building of a gym on the area of 300 square meters was partially destroyed. There was no fire. 7 victims were hospitalized. In total, more than 30 people received psychological assistance. A total of 154 rescuers and 33 pieces of equipment were engaged at the scene.
