Family people know how important the size of a car is. At the same time, it should preferably be inexpensive and reliable and be able to cope with off-road conditions. This is exactly what the 2025 Dacia Duster has become.

Motor1 magazine has tested the new model and claims that in terms of price-quality ratio, the new small SUV from the Romanian car brand will be the best choice. In particular, because of the model's high ground clearance, which makes traveling with children especially safe. Moreover, in this modification, they can be seated in the back row without bending over.

You can also get an all-wheel drive Dacia to tackle mud, branches and puddles on the way to school. In addition, the model boasts cheap and readily available parts if it needs repairs.

The third generation Duster was launched this year. It is an important vehicle for Dacia - more than 2.2 million copies have been sold in Europe since 2010 and the model is still very popular.

The new Duster comes with a range of engines: 1.0-liter dual-fuel engine, 1.2-liter mild hybrid and even a 1.6-liter full hybrid. You can choose front-wheel or all-wheel drive, depending on your needs. The trunk with all the seats folded down (and without the spare tire) can hold up to 1,600 liters of stuff in a front-wheel drive car. This capacity is slightly reduced in the rear-wheel drive version.

Dacia has kept the specifications simple for the Duster. There is a basic Essential version with minimal functionality and equipment. The Expression adds alloy wheels, a rearview camera, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, and more. The Extreme gets the same as the Expression, plus bigger wheels, Copper Brown details, and more adventure-oriented stuff. Journey is the parallel top specification, focused on comfort rather than off-road driving.

New generation cars must come with active safety technologies as standard. The massive touchscreen is equipped with web navigation, satellite radio, screens for disabling various security systems, and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Inside, you won't find exotic materials, but rather beautifully designed but hard plastic and comfortable seats. At the same time, the model is highly cross-country - you can drive through deep puddles and climb steep slopes, allowing its hill descent control system to guide you. Dacia has installed several modes so that you can let the car know what it has to face. You can even order a "sleeping kit" to turn the trunk and rear seats into a bed.

The mild hybrid of the new Duster comes with 129 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission. Its shift lever is comfortable and easy to use. The full hybrid has a little more power - 139 horsepower, but there is no manual transmission.
