The movie Longlegs is the best horror movie of 2024 according to Rotten Tomatoes movie critics. And although it hasn't been released yet, people are already pinning their hopes on the project after watching the trailer.

Film critics often complain about banal and uninteresting horror films, but it seems that Longlegs should be different. The film was produced by a relatively new film company, NEON, which could also have influenced the experts' assessment on Rotten Tomatoes. Moreover, the company releases films that later become either Oscar nominees or winners, so moviegoers have high hopes for a new high-quality project.

The horror movie will be released on July 12, but it seems that moviegoers have already chosen their favorite among other films.

The story centers on a newly arrived FBI agent, Lee Harker, who is assigned to solve a serial murder of 38 people. As the investigation progresses, she discovers that all the deaths are connected to the occult, i.e. isotericism and beliefs. Then the protagonist realizes that she needs to hurry so that another person does not become a victim. It is not clear whether she will succeed in doing so.

Startefacts reports that NEON's advertising campaign was launched two years ago. Back then, it was announced that the legendary Nicolas Cage would play the role of the killer, which has already drawn public attention to the upcoming horror movie.

Later, the creators released a trailer that keeps you in suspense for the entire 2 minutes: starting with the audio and ending with an intriguing ending with blood splattered all over it.

After some time, a website appeared on the Internet, which the film company has dedicated to the serial killer. If you solve a small puzzle on it, you can find a link to another resource. It contains a detailed list of victims of a psychopathic Satanist who "terrorized families in the Pacific Northwest for nearly three decades."

As of June 18, Longlegs has already garnered 100% satisfactory comments from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. It's very difficult for horror films to achieve such a rating.

Some even noted that the plot coincides with some films they have seen before, but despite this, the movie is still a breath of fresh air.

"The feeling of being inside the head of a serial killer or FBI agent has never been so exciting and seductive," one commenter noted.

Another added, "There are moments when Longlegs feels like a movie you've seen before, but with an evil filter: it's both a weakness and a strength, as Perkins' horror surrealism makes the familiar strange and the strange familiar."

It is worth noting that moviegoers are looking forward to Oz Perkins' projects. Fans are fascinated by his strange and intricate plots.
